Description
The Chassis Check is the service that, through the chassis number, allows you to know all the technical data of a vehicle, the personal data of its current owner and any encumbrances present on the vehicle.
Who can request the Chassis Certificate?
The Chassis Registration Document can be requested by anyone throughout the national territory, provided that they know the chassis number of the vehicle for which they wish to obtain the document and provided that the vehicle in question is regularly registered with the PRA.
To request the Chassis Report, you must fill out the form by entering the following information:
- Vehicle type (e.g. car, motorcycle, truck, or trailer)
- Vehicle chassis number.
NB It cannot be requested for mopeds with an engine capacity of less than 50 cubic centimetres, buses, caravans, agricultural vehicles, and all trailers with a capacity of less than 3.5 tonnes.
Vehicles registered before 1993 may not be present in the Public Automobile Registry, therefore, they cannot be traced unless accessed by the competent territorial office where the registration took place.
What does the Frame Check contain?
The data contained in the Chassis Report are:
- Vehicle data (license plate, chassis, model, manufacturer, date of declaration of conformity, date of registration, power in kW, class/use, bodywork, engine capacity, fuel, number of seats, number of axles, latest formality, deregistration – e.g. for demolition);
- Header data (deed date, vehicle price);
- Personal data of the account holder (full name, tax code, date of birth and place of birth, place of residence, address of residence);
- Notes: any previous owners, any administrative seizures, mortgages and other liens and the number of encumbrances.
ATTENTION: the chassis registration has no legal value, if you want to obtain a certification to show in court, you must request a PRA chronological certificate
